è nato nel 1909 a Kovacica, villaggio del Banat vicino a Belgrado. Slovacco di origine, contadino. E' uno dei fondatori del gruppo di Kovacica; dal 1937 dipinge su tela scene della vita del villaggio in Slovacchia. Ha esposto in molte mostre di gruppo nella ex Jugoslavia e all'estero.
